Many paintball markers are compatible with both CO₂ and Compressed Air (HPA). The real decision usually comes down to what’s easiest to refill locally.

Quick Decision Guide

  • HPA / Compressed Air (Recommended) — more consistent shot-to-shot performance and widely supported at paintball fields.
  • CO₂ — fully compatible with many mechanical paintball guns, but fill availability varies depending on your area.
  • Electronic paintball markers require HPA. CO₂ should not be used with electronic markers.
