Layer peeled off lens before first use!

I bought this for my son as a gift, and for the money this cost I expected it to be of a certain quality, meaning nothing wrong with it upon opening the box and taking it out. As this was a gift, I could not do this until my son opened it. Within 20 mins of him opening the gift and then taking it out, he comes up to me and tells me that a layer of the lens is already peeling off. This was before he was even able to wear it once! I wanted to return it immediately but my son refused to let me, mostly because he’s 15 and his friends were all going out to shoot and he wanted to wear his brand new mask, which would be hard to do if it was being returned. He said he wanted to get a different color lens anyway so I should let it go.Now it’s been two months since it’s been purchased and he’s inquired about getting a new lens, and Then I seen how much just the Lens costs, which led me to anger, which led me to writing a review to prevent this aggravation for someone else possibly. The mask itself is great, no problems or issues there, but buyer beware, you may get a lens peeling a layer immediately upon reciept or item. If your ok with playing return games, go for it. if you want it or need it ASAP and don’t feel like dealing with possible lens issues, I’d look elsewhere. it’s not much more of reputable sites and honestly would have paid a few more dollars for one I wouldn’t have issues with immediately.

Gold mirrored lens is very dark even in modest daylight

I will be as honest as possible these are a great quality mask but the lens is absolutely terrible.I'll state right off the bat that these will not cover your entire head if you are an average guy like me. I do not have a big head or a small head just a typical sized head for a 5'11 male medium build. You will get hit in your head, it doesn't hurt too bad as long as people aren't shooting hot but I got shell shock a couple times so be prepared for that.One issue is the gold mirror lens. I ordered the collectors edition in black with a gold mirror lens and while not playing in broad daylight but rather modestly sunny weather the vision is VERY dark and cloudy.Also it states in the manual you are not supposed to use water on the lens or any part of the mask whatsoever which doesn't make any sense at all. Other masks you can just wash in your sink or in the tub but these masks have a special thermal coating which doesn't seal all the way.I assume this was done to deter fogging from occurring while playing but honestly the mask is so breathable to begin with it doesn't make any sense. The only option you have really is to clean it with a microfiber cloth but that will just smudge and smear and make the mask cloudy even if you do regular wax on wax off motions kind of a bummer when you are paying $150 bucks.I put them on when I got home with the lights on in my house and vision is still not very good, I have great visual acuity but these lens that ship with the mask put incredible strain on your eyes and do not provide a very clear image HD lens or not I think the mirrored lenses are just designed to make you look "cool".Though nobody looks cool when you are walking off the field covered in paint because you can't see people walking up on you.I have since ordered the clear yellow HD lens and will update the review when I try them out, until then I will stick with a cheap pair of gxg backup mask since I can see EVERYTHING with those.Even my wife tried these on and said they were very dark. I swapped for the last few games and used her proto switch goggles which I bought for her when I ordered the i4's and the difference in clarity is outrageous.So yeah great mask love the look very low profile great hearing ability it breathes very well in some aspects but visibility is garbage with the mirror lens.

Decent but expensive mask

Pros: Didn't fog in 80+ degree heat for over 4 hrs. of play, extremely lightweight, very wide view angle helps peripheral vision spottingCons: Small mask, very limited throat protection, no visor = sunburn on forehead and head.Other people have mentioned workarounds for the lack of a visor, and you can try to wear a hat backwards, then put on the mask to sort of cover your head but this may or may not be comfortable to you.

Very small!!!!

Way to small for a 6ft adult! Got shot in the chin second time out. Looks cool giving it to my nephew.
