With Over 25 Years of Experience, Tippmann's New and Improved 98 Custom Platinum Series Sets the Standard for Paintball Markers in the Industry. Built for the new or casual paintball player wanting a durable, reliable marker that is easy to use but can be upgraded to enhance the look or performance. The 98 Custom is the most reliable marker in paintball. The "out of the box" performance features the proven inline bolt system combined with the split receiver design which makes it easy to upgrade and maintain. The 98 Custom is compatible with many Tippmann and after market accessories and comes with Tippmann’s World Class 1-year Warranty. Popular upgrades include the e-trigger with five firing modes, the Cyclone Feed System, Response Trigger Kit and the Flatline barrel (sold separately).
Tippmann 98 Custom w/ ACT (Anti-Chop Technology) Edition features all of the same specs as the BASIC edition with the additional of Anti-Chop Technology. ACT is a patent-pending design to help eliminate ball chopping and ensure consistent performance. Using a new technology that has the front and rear bolt working independently of each other, ACT virtually eliminates ball chopping and improves ball accuracy with less barrel cleaning. And unlike other anti chop systems, this system maintains ball velocity shot after shot and does not have to be re-cocked if the anti-chop technology had to be engaged.

- Secure Front Sight Spring and Trigger Pins, making the marker easier to service and reassemble
- Easy-to-Remove Power Tube Design with self-sealing/locking gas line secures the valve in place and eliminates two bolts from the previous design making maintaining the marker quicker and easier
- Full Depth Pockets for ASA, eliminating the need to loosen the ASA bolts when disassembling the marker
- New Barrel Porting and a Matte Finish, improving marker air efficiency and reducing reflective glare
- Picatinny Rails, which makes adding a carry handle, scopes, and other accessories a snap
- Redesigned, Vertical Front Grip, which offers improved stability and added texture for a more secure feel
